Enyedy + Halko

Ten of my favorite things from the Enyedy/Halko Wedding:

Ten. Paint-A-Cookie

Sarah put together beautiful activity bags for all of the children, and Sugar Mama’s bakery came in CLUTCH with these adorable cookies with paint palettes that kids could use the provided brush to watercolor the cake. Such a unique idea and I love it!!

Nine. Mobile Bar

Having worked numerous outdoor venues, couples frequently get creative with what they have for a bar, but this was the first time I’d seen the full mobile trailer bar that Ready2Go offers. This bar was adorable, functional, and had a lovely deck space that made for a great addition to this outdoor reception.

Eight. Gizmo

If there is a dog in the wedding, they always make this list, but my goodness if Gizzy wasn’t just the most perfect little guy I’ve ever met. He was so sweet, and although he didn’t know me, he happily cuddled up with me, and let me carry him around when the door was being opened too much and we didn’t want him to make a run for it. He was an absolute sweetheart and was so well behaved during the ceremony and his walking down the aisle. He made the perfect dog of honor!

Seven. Kid’s Dance

Seeing how much Sarah prioritized children in her big day was such a beautiful touch. From the kids bags to the cookies, and then a special dance to kick off the night with the song from the Barbie Movie that all of them absolutely adored! From dancing to cartwheels, and so much giggling, they had an absolute blast during this unique and special addition to the reception.

Six. Vows

Having had a sneak peek at Sarah’s vows, I knew that this moment would need tissues, but when I heard Devin choke up during his, which I hadn’t heard yet, I realized it would be way more special than I first anticipated. Both of them having to pause during theirs to catch their breath, their love for each other was so beautiful and it certainly was a good thing that tissues were handed out to guests when they arrived. <3

Five. Cookie Table

You absolutely cannot go wrong with a Pittsburgh Cookie Table, and they went big! Grandma Sue homemade every cookie on this table which included 65 different types of cookies and more than 300 dozen. She made separate ones for any dietary restrictions so that everyone had something, and every cookie that I tried was delicious. An absolutely incredible execution of this fun tradition!

Four. Pickle Bar

We love a charcuterie bar, but when I was told that the middle of it would be a pickle bar, I was quite intrigued. Sarah and Devin’s love for pickles poured into their appetizers in the forms of various different types of pickles, as well as pickle flavored chips, goldfish, jerky, and Slim Jims! As a pickle lover, I was a big fan, but I also loved how “them” it was to include this in their details.

Three.  Spiral

There were so so so many details that went into this day, twice what most weddings have, but the spiral set up for the ceremony was absolutely my favorite of them. I had only seen it on Pinterest or Instagram, but it made for such a beautifully unique addition. Allowing every single guest to get a front row seat to the processional and the recessional truly made it a guest-focused experience. On top of that, the drone shots were so much fun and I CANNOT WAIT to see them. 🙂

Two. Devin watching Sarah walk

To add on the the amazing spiral, we were brought to tears when Sarah walked and we watched Devin pivot in circles following her the entire way through the spiral. His love for her was so obvious and it was a heartwarming moment.

One. Blended Family

I could talk all day about how perfect all of them are together but I’ll stick to just a couple of concrete examples… it was mentioned in Devin’s vows, when he made the promise to Sarah and all five kids, then during the unity ceremony, the whole family joined to place their puzzle pieces in the frame, signifying their newly united family. During the bridesmaid speech, Sarah’s daughter spoke of how much of a breath of fresh air Devin was, and that they knew that he would propose pretty early on, and lastly, during the traditional dances, Sarah danced with her son Ethan, and Devin danced with the four girls, in another tear-jerking moment. Their love for each other was so so evident, and it was absolutely beautiful to see.

Honorable Mentions:

  • The first shuttle arrived to return guests to the hotel, and the next song that came on was “hotel, motel, holiday inn” – still not sure if it was intentional or not (I hope it was) but I absolutely lol’d when I heard it!
  • Late night walking taco bar – this was a labor of love that took hours of preparation and paid off in tenfold – everyone was so excited as we set it up and quickly formed a line to kick off the afterparty with a snack. Their were enough toppings and extras for everyone to get exactly what they wanted and it was a great way to finish out the night.

Sarah was so thoughtful and put her all into every single detail for their big day, and kept us busy all day long. We had an absolutely blast working with her, Devin, their family, and all of the uniquities of their day. Congratulations again to the Halkos!
