Miknis + Zerbini

Blairsville, PA

January 4, 2025

The holidays certainly hit us hard this year. Between so many family parties and buying a house, here we are already almost a MONTH since these two got married. No worries though.. I am still replaying this magical evening in my head, so without further ado…

Ten of my favorite things from the Miknis/Zerbini Wedding:

Ten. Simple, Classy, Christmas

This venue is beautiful enough on it’s own, but the simple ways that the decor added to it was executed flawlessly. From the extra trees that were brought in to add to the holiday cheer, to the beautiful centerpieces, and the extra ornament decor and even cocktail table decor that Emily’s mom brought. Everything was bright, fun, and picture perfect to add to the classy Christmas vibe.

Nine. Hot Cocoa Bar

Tell me that there’s a hot cocoa bar, and I’m sold from the get go, but add in that the hot cocoa is in ornaments? Stop it. The thought that was put into this perfect added bonus was incredible, and it made for some pretty unique photos.

Eight. Anniversary Dance winners’ reaction

Oh my goodness, just the sweetest thing when Mr. and Mrs. Larry realized that they were the last ones up there during the anniversary dance. They were so excited, clearly still so in love, and just the perfect example of what this tradition is all about.

Seven. Ornament Favors

Upon entering the ballroom sat a full-sized Christmas tree covered in gorgeous ornaments with tags from the new Mr. and Mrs. as a thank you to guests. Simple ornaments that would truly match anyone’s decor were the sweetest touch for guests to take home a piece of this special night. Plus, they’ll be able to get it out each year and remember all of the fun that was had.

Six. Father/Daughter First Look/Homemade Arch

We all know I get emotional at weddings (or anything, really) but not only did I get to see the father/daughter first look, but I stood with the mother of the bride while it took place. *cue ugly crying* It was absolutely beautiful and showed how close Emily and her dad are. I mean, he handmade the arch that she got married in front of, she’s clearly his favorite daughter.. 🙂

Five. Photo Op

In the age of photobooths, it can get kind of tricky to make sure yours is unique, and boy did they pull it off. A simple wooden backdrop with lit trees and florals with a brilliant pop of a red couch and a cozy blanket and pillow made for a perfect spot for everyone to gather and take photos. Luckily, the vendor table was right beside it and we got front row seats of how much all of the guests enjoyed this bonus activity.

Four. Generations of Love Table

Beside the photobooth, sat a table full of extremely important photos. In beautifully unique gold frames, the wedding photos of their beloved family members on display with a thank you message to their family. In addition, the table was shared with a couple of photos of those who couldn’t be with them at their wedding. It was a gorgeous tribute to all of those who helped them become who they are today.

Three. MOH Speech

Just when I think I’ve heard all of the tearjerker lines that can be in a speech, Emily’s Matron of Honor Kari comes along and drops “It seems like just yesterday our Barbies were getting married, and now here we are.” I’m sure so many in the room, like me, reminisced for a few seconds of their youth, and how quickly time goes by. It certainly is a beautiful thing to have someone who has been by your side for so many years stand by your side while you begin such a meaningful chapter.

Two. Boutonniere photo op

While rounding up the ladies to get ready for photos, I received a text from the groom asking me if his mom wanted a picture with him, helping him pin on his boutonniere. And as if that wasn’t enough, I happened to be with his mom when I received it, and her face just lit up when I told her. Such a simple detail that is so often overlooked, but I can almost guarantee it made his mom’s day to have that moment and I can’t wait to see the photos!

One. Mr. Brightside

Surprise surprise, am I right? This song makes it’s way into my top ten lists quite often, but these two went above and beyond to get it included. The dance floor was busy as ever, and I was prepping our list for teardown when I realized that Emily and Dan were back up on stage at their sweetheart table, standing on their chairs, light sticks in hand, singing and dancing their hearts out. With the whole dance floor of guests cheering, they truly made the most of this part of the reception.

Honorable Mentions:

The true Pittsburgh Cookie Table – there is certainly a difference in a “Cookie Table” and a “Pittsburgh Cookie Table” and I just lovvvvvvve the latter. What was at least five full tables covered in cookies, from custom one’s with their names on them, to my favorite, orange cookies, and everything in between. You just can’t go wrong with this Western PA tradition.

Being back at Chestnut Ridge – I mean, does it get any better than that? Those giant golden doors, the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the golf course, and of course, getting to work with Amy & Nate again! 10/10. They were the very first venue I worked with after starting Blue Bon years ago and are just so wonderful to work with. It was so nice to be back!

Congratulations again, to the newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Zerbini. Your big day was absolutely perfect and I’m so thankful that you entrusted Blue Bon to help you through it. <3
