Ten of my favorite things from Mary and Bailey’s Wedding:
Ten: The Trees – On Friday morning, the trees were bare, but just 36 hours later, they were blooming and green with white and red flowers. It’s almost as if they didn’t want to be late for the event.
Nine: The Guests – when the officiant says to stand, you stand. When the officiant forgets to say “you can be seated” – you stay standing. 10/10 on following directions.
Eight: The Weather – after spending the better part of the week watching it go back and forth, the call was made at 2:30 to have the ceremony outside, rain or shine. After raining all morning, the sun broke through the clouds just as the vows began. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Seven: The Lodge – from the gorgeous back deck, to the built in ceremony space, and the view of the pond, this venue in the woods was a hidden treasure that allowed for a quaint, intimate, and stunning space to celebrate this new chapter.
Six: The Coffee and Tea station after dessert – as if the cupcakes weren’t enough, the extra caffeine was a great touch to keep guests lively and dancing, as well as help us vendors wake up a bit for our drives home. 🙂
Five: The Napkins – This may seem silly, but the copper napkins at the place settings were *chefs kiss* and they went perfectly with the eucalyptus and other decor.
Four: Paul’s Provisions’ Pinto and Chickpea Hummus – Both Mary and Bailey had mentioned how good it was, but it still exceeded all expectations. I can only imagine the recipe was sent down directly from heaven. It was completely cleared, with no leftovers in sight, to no surprise. I easily could have eaten it as the main course – absolutely delicious!
Three: Their Friends – This was by far the most helpful group of friends/wedding guests that I’ve worked with. While managing a couple table resets, multiple friends jumped in helped me with every piece of the set-up without blinking an eye. Not only did they travel in from all over the country join to help with set up, hair, make-up, and everything in between, they were then found breaking down tables and collecting centerpieces, in their wedding outfits, after the reception. This was just one of the examples of how Mary and Bailey are surrounded by some of the most caring and helpful individuals, and they made it a blast, to boot! Cleaning up has never been so fun.
Two: The A+ Outfit Change – the beautiful gowns for the ceremony were plenty enough to swoon over, but the jumpsuit/cocktail dress mix for the reception were equally as elegant as they were gorgeous. While they were certainly easier to maneuver through the venue, they added a fun surprise for the guests, and allowed the brides to really show their personalities through the details.
One: The toasts – Don’t get me wrong, I can get emotional in the blandest of times, but these speeches were truly immaculate. Almost every one of the eight individuals who spoke had to stop at some point to collect themselves, and their words were all beautiful. These very clearly showed the effect that Mary and Bailey have had on their friends and explained their love beautifully.
Honorable Mention: The spiral staircase was beautiful, however, after walking up and down it twenty plus times, it was outranked and lost it’s spot in the top ten
Congratulations to the newlyweds! I am so thankful to have gotten to work with you both through this and get to know you both better. The weekend went perfectly, which is a great start to the beautiful marriage that I know you’ll have. Congratulations, again! <3
